Where and who
Our task is t o assist and encourage parishes and deaneries in carrying out a creative but realistic assessment of church buildings and to work out how best they might contribute to the local strategy for mission and ministry both in the deanery and the diocese.

But where to start?

 

Faced with the task of helping parish, deanery and diocese look more strategically at all their buildings is a huge undertaking.

Firstly there are lots of them spread over a wide area - take a look to the right - we lost count at 246!!

Then there lots of people involved all of whom have different ideas, hopes and dreams.

And its no surprise that there is a complicated web of legalities, responsibilities and structures that affect how we care for the buildings we have.

These pages detail something of the way in which the task group is responding to this challenge. They also explain their plans, current projects, plus a mention of a few of their stories and experiences.
