How we can help you to minister to children and their families.
What can we do?
The Diocesan Development Officer for Children’s Work offers consultations to parish churches on a formal or informal basis. These visits help congregations to develop an appropriate ministry to the children in their church and local community.

How can we keep going?
Support is an essential component of any long-term work. The Diocesan Development Officer for Children’s work can be contacted via the telephone, by letter or by email at Church House; to offer support and can often put you in touch with other children’s workers in your area, to share ideas, equipment or to do joint events.
What courses and support are on offer?
The Children’s Officer can run ‘Core Skills’ courses that last for 6 sessions for your Deanery locally and this course can also be offered ecumenically. The course is made up of the six most asked for children’s work sessions and includes topics such as child spiritual development, children and evangelism, leading a session and much more. This training can be offered either as evening or daytime sessions and also weekly, monthly or for full days according to need.
Deanery support groups that meet twice a year are being formed throughout the Diocese. Please contact Sandra at Church House for more details.
Other training is available upon request to meet your parish needs.
