From ‘Renewing Creation’ July 2011

Praying for the Earth

Praying for the EarthThe superb second edition of Praying for the Earth, in full colour with photographs, has recently been produced by the Newcastle Diocesan Environment Task Group. The history behind this booklet appears in the July 2011 issue of Renewing Creation. Praying for the Earth has been produced in the hope of encouraging environmental concerns to become an integral part of the public and private prayers of all Christian people.

The booklet can be downloaded as a PDF here (6MB), and a text-only version will be made available for people with a visual impairment, who might have difficulty reading the full-colour edition.

Printed copies of Praying for the Earth are available from Rob Kelsey, robert.josephkelsey@live.com .

Environmental training videos - Locations needed

A series of short environmental training videos for clergy and congregations are being produced and suitable locations are required. Locations of interest are churches that have fitted solar panels, new boilers or alternative energy installations; churchyards being managed for biodiversity or any other interesting environmental examples. If you’d like to volunteer your church, please contact David Shreeve, Environmental Advisor to the Archbishops’ Council at david.shreeve@churchofengland.org.
