Parish Giving Scheme

Sunflowers [© rgbstock.com]The Parish Giving Scheme (PGS) is now available to all parishes in the diocese.

This is a national scheme and Newcastle is the first diocese in the North East Region to become a member. The scheme is being rolled out to parishes wishing to participate following launch events by our Bishops and Archdeacons in January and February 2017.

PGS provides a mechanism for personal gifting by direct debit, the option for annual increases linked to inflation, and a range of other financial assistance for treasurers including gift aid claiming.

Evidence from elsewhere has shown increases in parish income where direct debit is offered alongside other means of giving and that the annual increases option has proved popular.   It is already used successfully across 13 dioceses within the UK and they are already seeing the benefits of it.

The scheme is at no cost to Parishes. We are pleased to have it available as another option for Treasurers to use.

Below are some useful links to PGS documentation for use within the diocese. If you would like to know more about the Parish Giving Scheme you can click here to visit their website or if you are interested in being involved at all please contact:
