Current events

Many congregations find help and encouragement to engage further with their communities through listening to those who have trodden the same path.

In 2012 PARTNERS awarded 8 main grants and 10 small grants to churches in the Newcastle diocese.

  • At The Ascension, Kenton, PARTNERS paid for the installation of a toilet after young people took the initiative to transform a dingy basement room in the church into a vibrant meeting room.
  • "What is the LARGEST and most UNDER-USED building in the centre of Alston?"  This heading on a leaflet prepared with the help of Inspired NE was part of a feasibility study into the future use of the parish church in Alston which received a PARTNERS small grant of £1,000.
  • The church at Longframlington had, with funding from a number of grant-making bodies including PARTNERS, built a new Parish Room.  They requested a further grant to ensure that the Room would be widely used by the local community.
  •  St James, Benwell, requested funding for a Schools Worker from PARTNERS.
