Support available from the Emily Matilda Easton Benefaction

The Emily Matilda Easton Benefaction provides a small pension to single (never married) women, aged over 55, who are Anglicans and the daughters of professional men. There are in fact two Benefactions: One covers the Dioceses of Durham and Newcastle; the other is national.

If you know anyone who meets the criteria who could do with a little extra financial help, please invite them to consider making an application. A form can be downloaded here.

Emily Matilda Easton was a wealthy spinster who used her wealth to build churches, support the education of women and the training of priests, and fund these benefactions. She died on Christmas Day 1913.
