North East Churches Acting Together

05/07/2018

North East Churches Acting Together have some places to attend the Churches Together in England forum, 17-19th September 2018 at the Hayes in Swanwick, Derbyshire.

It’s an event that happens every three years and pulls together folks from all 40 plus members of Churches Together in England, about 300 delegates from the member churches from across the country and from a range of church perspectives.  This year we will also have the 6 presidents there, Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbur: Cardinal Vincent Nicholls, Archbishop of Westminster:  Billy Kennedy, New church Pastor; Archbishop Angelous of the Orthodox church;  Dr Hugh Osgood and Pastor Irukwu of the Pentecostal churches.

This year’s forum is entitled 'I am with you always' – together in God's mission.  There will be a varied programme of speakers, workshops, a variety of worship, bible study, small groups and lots of time for conversation with folks from other churches.   The Forum is not a deliberative meeting, more a gathering of those engaged in the ecumenical journey to share together and learn from one another.

We are particularly encouraging young people from our churches to attend (under 35).   There will be no cost, we have been offered them as part of our membership and funds to pay for transport.  If you know of anyone who might be interested please get in touch.
