William Leech Research Fellowships in Applied Christian Theology

DO YOU HAVE AN IMAGINATIVE RESEARCH PROPOSAL IN APPLIED CHRISTIAN THEOLOGY THAT IS RELEVANT TO THE NORTH EAST OF ENGLAND?

ARE YOU SEEKING FUNDING?

THE WILLIAM LEECH RESEARCH TRUST IS CURRENTLY INVITING APPLICATIONS BY MAY 7th, 2012.

Fellows

  • carry out Research Projects that will benefit Church Life in the North East
  • engage with the Churches, and disseminate their results
  • are normally associated with either Durham or Newcastle Universities

Fellowships can be

  • a salaried one-year Post-doctoral Research Appointment at one of these Universities or the Colleges of St Chad’s and St John’s, Durham

OR

  • a financially supported period of up to 12 months Mature Theological Reflection and Research, hosted by these bodies or an appropriate Church Organisation

Possible themes relevant to the North East include

  • People, Place and Community
  • Ethical and pastoral implications of Genetic Research
  • Patterns of Economic Regeneration
  • The role of the Church in Rural Communities
  • Responding to Refugees and Asylum Seekers in our midst
  • Theology of Money, Capitalism, Society and the Church
  • Theology of Democracy and Institutions
  • Justice and Hope

The Trust awards Fellowships on a rolling basis, with Closing Dates: January 7th and May 7th each year.
