Bishop Martin speaks to the whole schoolOn Tuesday 23rd October 2012, the Bishop of Newcastle blessed and dedicated the new Central Walker Church of England Primary School which had opened the previous month.

The school in in east Newcastle replaces Wharrier Street and St Anthony's Church of England Primary Schools and has nearly 400 children on the roll aged from four to eleven years.

Headteacher Mrs Julie Kadleck welcomed the entire school to a special assembly in the multi-purpose hall, together with Bishop Martin Wharton, Governors, friends, supporters and members and staff of the Diocesan Education Board.

The finer points of design work...After a celebration of thanksgiving, song, dance and screening of videos of the new school made by pupils, the school's Vision Statement was spelled out at the back of the stage: 'Inspiring and Encouraging Excellence.'

With a whole-school, arm-waving performance of the song 'High Hopes', the visitors were sent off to see the school's new facilities in action.
