The Rt. Revd. Martyn Jarrett, Bishop of Beverley and Provincial Episcopal Visitor for the Province of York, is also to be Hon. Assistant Bishop in this Diocese.

The Revd Janet Jackson, Chaplain St. Oswald’s Hospice is to be Bereavement Services Co-ordinator, Tynedale Hospice at Home.

The Revd. Canon Trevor Pitt, Principal of NEOC will retire on 31st January, 2010 The Revd. Dr. Steven John Harrison, NSM Priest in Charge of Spittal and Scremerston will retire on 16th April, 2010.

St. Peter’s, Monkseaton are holding an Antiques Roadshow on Thursday February 25 at 7.00 p.m. in the Crosskeys Community Hall in Elmwood Road, Monkseaton with proceeds going to the Crosskeys Project. Evaluations will be with Julian Thomson of Anderson & Garland. Admission £5 which includes one item for valuation, wine and light refreshments. A new stained glass window in honour of Michael Ramsey on the theme ‘Transfiguration’ will be installed in Durham Cathedral and dedicated at Evensong on September 26 this year. To support this event (to which everyone is welcome, details will follow of a programme for the whole day) it is hoped that a book of memories of the Ramseys’ years in Durham will be published. If you have any stories from their various periods of residence in Durham, please send them to Canon Rosalind Brown at Durham Cathedral so that they can be included. Please include your contact details (although these will not be published) and send them to tnave.canon@durhamcathedral.co.uk or c/o The Chapter Office, The College, Durham, DH1 3EH. Please pass this message on to anyone else who might be able to contribute to what, it is hoped, will be an affectionate tribute as well as a way of recording memories that will otherwise be lost to posterity.

The PCC of St. Francis High Heaton is looking for an organist to play at the Parish Eucharist on Sunday mornings at 9.30a.m. and at occasional feast day/evening services. Calling all Readers: Sue Hart, secretary to the Readers Board, is asking Readers to register their e-mail addresses with Adrian Patterson at Church House : e-mail a.patterson@newcastle.anglican.org Sue says that costs of sending post to inform Readers of events and notices has become prohibitive and she hopes to establish an e-mail database as soon as possible. Readers may also want to join their special forum on the diocesan website to exchange ideas and information.
