The Revd. Hilary Savage, Team Vicar in the Cramlington Team Ministry, is going to be Rector of Eckington and Ridgeway in the Diocese of Derby.

The Revd. David Bowler, NSM Curate in the Cramlington Team Ministry, is going to be Chaplain for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities in the Northumberland, Tyne & Wear NHS Trust.

The Revd. Paul Jones, NSM Curate Longbenton, is going to be Incumbent of Newcastle St. Francis.

Noticeboard

A concert of continental polyphony by Palestrina, Victoria and Lassus will be given at St Mary's Church, Ponteland, on Saturday 26th June at 7.30pm, in support of the St Mary's Parish Choir. The performance will be given by Suspirans Chamber Choir, a newly formed Northumbrian chamber choir of experienced singers drawn from across the region. Tickets, including refreshment, cost £5 (concessions £3) and are available either on the door, or in advance from St Mary's Parish Office (01661 824470). Do join us on 26th June to support the fundraising for our parish choir and to experience a wonderful programme of Renaissance masterpieces.

A celebration of musical, cultural and spiritual bridge-building between Christians, Jews and Muslims in centuries gone by will take place in Hexham’s medieval Moot Hall in the Market Place at 8pm on Friday July 2nd. The concert, called The Rose and The Nightingale, will feature the soprano Vivien Ellis and lute-player Giles Lewin. Tickets, price £10, (£7 concessions), are available from the Queen’s Hall, Hexham (tel. 01434 652477) or by telephoning 01434 606293. Capacity is limited to 80 so early booking is advisable.

St. Peter’s Monkseaton Art Exhibition. Whitley Bay High School holds its annual A Level Art Exhibition at St. Peter’s Church, Woodleigh Road, Monkseaton over the weekend of Friday 25th June – Monday 28th June. Everyone is welcome to come and see the talent of these young people and, like last year, you will be amazed at the results! Times of opening: Friday 25th 5.00 p.m. – 7.00 p.m. Saturday 26th 10.00 a.m.- midday and 2.00p.m. - 4.00 p.m. Sunday 27th 2.00 p.m. – 4.00p.m. Monday 28th 10.00 a.m.- midday and 2.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m.

The 30th Annual Steeplechase takes place on 11th September 10 am to 4pm. Please support this Northumbria Historic Churches Trust event as the money raised is shared between the participating churches and the Trust. West Deanery evangelist Val Legg completed her marathon Lent swim (reported recently in Link) in 25 days and it raised a total of £876:25 for three community projects in the West Deanery. Thanks to all who sponsored and supported Val.

Come and Enjoy Music, Flowers and Tea to celebrate the Patronal Festival of St Peter the Fisherman Church, CRASTER, on Saturday June 26th , 2.30 - 5.30 pm. Entry including tea, £3.50. In aid of church funds.

Come down to the coast and enjoy a summer afternoon of Caribbean sound on Saturday June 26. As part of its Festival of Youth, St George’s Church Cullercoats is welcoming the talented youngsters of the award winning North Tyneside Steelband who will give a concert starting at 2.30pm. Admission is £5 for adults and £2 for children. This is only one item in our "FUNDAY" and there is lots more going on as well.
