Vacancies - Priest in Charge (House for Duty)

Closing Date: 31/01/2018

The Bishop wishes to appoint a

Priest in Charge (House for Duty)

to the parish of Shotley, St John in Corbridge Deanery

The parish of St John’s, Shotley (known locally as Snod’s Edge) is on the southern border of both the diocese of Newcastle and the County of Northumberland. There is a lively congregation with a long tradition of collaborative working between lay and ordained, a strong Local Ministry Development Team and a deep commitment to mission and outreach.

We are looking for someone who would enjoy living in a delightful rural area and who would add value to both the parish and the wider deanery. The parish is asking for someone who can hold together both traditional worship with developing new styles of communicating the Gospel.  There is also a desire for a priest who could support and extend the parish’s existing work with young people and their families. If you are someone who is skilled at working with others, who has an energetic vision for discipleship, who can spot potential and develop the gifts and skills of all God’s people, and above all who can give focused leadership on mission then this may be the place for you.
