On Sundays at 10am, services (which alternate between the Eucharist, and a Service of the Word) are celebrated in St Michael's Church, with social distancing measures in place. Our services are also livestreamed, and can be accessed from this site. Services are also taking in church on Wednesday mornings.
St Michael’s is an open and inclusive church sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and serving the local community. With origins in Saxon times, and handsomely rebuilt in the 14th and 15th centuries, St Michael’s Church is steeped in history. It is also one of the architectural gems of Northumberland.
Join us at one of our regular Worship Services: we have several services every Sunday, and during the week on Wednesdays, as well as special and seasonal services which are listed here, and on our website. We warmly invite you to attend a service, or to drop into the church and have a look round - we are open most days until 4pm.
Many couples choose to get married at St Michael's, or to have their child baptised (Christened) - please do contact us for further information.
The parish of Alnwick is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Newcastle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
