A statement from +Helen-Ann following London attack against Jewish community

Following the devastating attack which took place against the Jewish community in Golders Green yesterday, Bishop Helen-Ann has issued the following statement.

I was deeply shocked by the attack yesterday against the Jewish community in Golders Green, London and condemn it in the strongest possible terms. Antisemitism is an evil scourge on our humanity. Last Sunday I, along with nearly sixty thousand other people, ran the London marathon. I was struck across the whole route by the amazing support of the crowds, representing all walks of life, and many different faiths. It was the best of humanity. Acknowledging our differences is vital in our world today, and learning to live together with a common purpose for the best of our communities is a theme that is ever more pressing. I wish to extend my solidarity and support to the Jewish community in Newcastle and the North East region as a whole, and offer my sincere condolences in the light of this dreadful attack.
