    Part-time (18.75 hours), permanent contract

    £17,500 per annum (£35,000 pa FTE)

    As the Diocese of Newcastle enters into an exciting phase in the development of its relationship with Newcastle University this role, operating at the interface between the University and the Diocese, delivers an Anglican chaplaincy service to staff and students.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of pastoral care and support and provide guidance on spiritual and faith matters. They will lead worship, both in the Anglican tradition and ecumenically, and provide opportunities for Christian prayer, learning, discussion and fellowship for staff and students.

    Working alongside the Director of Student Health and Wellbeing and the wider Chaplaincy team, building positive relationships is key to this role as is the ability to create a sense of belonging and community.

    A Genuine Occupational Requirement exists for the post holder to be an ordained priest in the Church of England inaccordance with the Equality Act 2010.
