The Bishop wishes to appoint a House for Duty Priest in Charge to the parish of St Helen’s, Longhorsley in the Deanery of Morpeth.

Longhorsley is a mid-Northumberland rural village a few miles north of the County Town of Morpeth. St Helen’s is a well-maintained church adjacent to a spacious vicarage in the centre of the village.

We are looking for an experienced priest who has the ability to work with all the communities of the parish and is able to support the growth of confidence in the ministry of laity. The new parish priest would give priority to supporting the governors, staff and pupils of Longhorsley Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School. He or she would also be committed to the Mission Action Planning process to enable the parish to grow numerically, in missional reach and in spiritual depth. The Bishop and the PCC are looking for someone who is outgoing and approachable, who has the ability to increase the impact of the local church and who is able to grow effective relationships between the church and community.
