Priest in Charge (half time) for the parishes of Ford and Etal and Lowick with Kyloe and Ancroft
The Bishop wishes to appoint a Priest in Charge (half-time) for the parishes of Ford and Etal and Lowick with Kyloe and Ancroft (held in plurality) in Norham Deanery.
These parishes stretch from the north Northumberland Coast to the border with Scotland and include some of the most beautiful views and countryside in the North East of England including the popular pilgrimage attraction of St Cuthbert’s Cave. There are four delightful church buildings, two Church of England Voluntary Aided First Schools at Ford and Lowick, and an attractive six bedroomed vicarage on the edge of Lowick Village.
We are seeking a lively and energetic half-time priest-in-charge to lead these three parishes by creating a collaborative way of working across traditional parish boundaries. The successful candidate will therefore be an experienced leader who is also a team player with the ability to nurture gifts and skills in others. There is an opportunity to develop the pattern and styles of worship, especially to reach children, young people and their families. The new parish priest will have a deep interest in rural matters and enjoy being a visible presence amongst vibrant rural communities.
