St John’s is a lively Local Ecumenical Partnership (LEP) of the Anglican, Methodist, URC and Baptist Churches.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a well-established LEP, which demonstrates the best of active, confident ecumenical working. You will work alongside the recently appointed part-time Methodist Minister (0.5 FTE) to co-lead mission and ministry in a growing outer suburb of Newcastle City, with new housing, an expansive retail park and excellent transport links.

There is a readiness and enthusiasm from a united congregation, representing all four denominations, to develop the next stage of local ministry in worship and mission in this on going partnership. In common with other local areas across the Diocese, significant housing developments are currently being built and planned which offer significant scope for creative outreach and mission.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone with a passion for collaborative and ecumenical ministry and a desire to explore new ways of being and growing church within a supportive and enthusiastic context with open and willing colleagues.
