Priest in Charge, Warkworth and Acklington, and Shilbottle
The Bishop of Newcastle wishes to appoint a Priest in Charge to the Benefice of Warkworth and Acklington and to the Parish of Shilbottle in Northumberland.
We are looking for a priest in charge who will help realise the potential for mission and ministry by leading the three parishes of Warkworth, Acklington and Shilbottle into becoming one benefice. The new priest in charge will become the Vicar designate of these three parishes, set in some of the most delightfully scenic parts of rural Northumberland.
The incumbent will be someone with leadership skills who has the ability to create and develop a mission and ministry team involving both lay and ordained. They will enjoy rural living and take a keen interest in all matters that concern the local communities. They will be creative in the development of new patterns and styles of worship to enable wider groups of people, young and old, to engage with the life of the local church. They will be adept at shaping and using church buildings in the service of local communities.
The new parish priest will make a key contribution towards the realisation of the diocesan vision statement growing church bringing hopein the rural areas of Newcastle Diocese.
