Priest in Charge
The Bishop of Newcastle wishes to appoint a Priest in Charge for the three Parishes of Chapel House Holy Nativity, Denton Holy Spirit and Newcastle Holy Cross.
‘Behold, I am doing a new thing…’ (Isaiah 43.19) Newcastle Diocese is seeking to respond to God’s call by developing new patterns and partnerships for mission and ministry. This is an exciting opportunity to work across 3 parishes representing the diversity of suburban and urban Newcastle in the west of the City. This is a new partnership of parishes, all in the modern catholic tradition, and all looking to grow and serve their communities in new ways.
The role is an excellent opportunity for anyone who is ready for a strategic challenge and willing to seek fresh vision for God’s mission in the world, to be attentive to the Spirit’s activity in our communities, to lead the confident collaboration of ordained and lay leaders, and to nurture inspiring and imaginative worship where all are welcome.
Priest in Charge (full time)
The new priest will be a creative thinker andoutward looking, with the ability to build relationships across a diverse community, develop teams and discern mission opportunities. They will be a good teacher and pastor encouraging and inspiring all in prayer, discipleship and understanding of God’s word. They will have overall responsibility for the 3 parishes, but with a special responsibility for Holy Spirit Denton. (It is intended that the Priest in Charge designate will be involved in the recruitment of the Associate Priest.)
