Newcastle Diocese marks Safeguarding Adults Week

Safeguarding Adults Week runs from 17th -21st November and is an annual, national event, where organisations come together to raise awareness of safeguarding issues in our communities.

This year’s campaign, coordinated by the Ann Craft Trust, focuses on the theme ‘Prevention: Act Before Abuse’.

The Diocese of Newcastle is pleased to work alongside our safeguarding adult partners in Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland.

Sharon Devlin, Diocesan Director of Safeguarding, said: “Safeguarding Week is a time to give thanks for all who work to make our churches and communities safe, caring and welcoming places for everyone.

“As we reflect and pray, we remember that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility – our shared expression of God’s love.”

This week, the diocesan safeguarding team will be sharing some resources to support and assist adults in our communities.
