On Sunday 29 June, five new deacons were ordained by Bishop Helen-Ann during a service at Newcastle Cathedral.
Congratulations to our ordinands who will become deacons and priests this Petertide.
Congratulations to the recipients from the Newcastle Diocese who have been chosen to receive this year’s Maundy Money! His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen will attend the service on 17 April, at Durham Cathedral, where they will present Maundy Money to 152 recipients—76 men and 76 women—honouring their exceptional Christian service and reflecting the King’s age. A group of clergy from our rural parishes recently met at St. Cuthbert’s, Hebron to pray, learn and eat together.
This week, Hexham Abbey welcomed licensed clergy from the diocese for a two-day retreat, led by Canon Dr Paula Gooder, Chancellor of St Paul's Cathedral.
Five of our new deacons were ordained at Newcastle Cathedral this afternoon by Bishop Helen-Ann.
There was great joy at Newcastle Cathedral earlier today as three new priests were ordained by Bishop Mark.
